Our Real Estate School
Prudential California Realty’s Real Estate School offers a two-phased program that prepares prospective sales professionals for the California real estate salesperson's examination. Our program, available online or through a home study format, is approved by the Department of Real Estate and registered with the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education.
The online and home study versions both offer the flexible benefits of self-paced study and telephone tutoring. Both include the textbooks and a live weekend review session.
Phase I
Includes Real Estate Principles, Practice, and the *Legal Aspects of Real Estate…all the courses you need for your four year salesperson’s license.
Phase I consists of three courses which may be completed either as independent home study or online. It is assisted by our telephone tutor, our instructor who has taught real estate classes at the University of California, Berkeley for many years.
The course consists of reading the chapters in the textbooks, answering questions for each chapter, and taking an “open book” final for each course. Upon successful completion, students are issued a certificate of completion. DRE regulations state you must spend a minimum of 18 days for each course, and our maximum time for completion is one year.
Phase II
Live Weekend Prep Session, plus over 1,000 Updated Practice Test Questions
For Phase II, you choose dates from a calendar of scheduled weekend review sessions held once a month. You may attend one weekend or as many as necessary. A suggestion would be to attend a session in the beginning for an overview of the course and then again before taking the state exam to see how well prepared you are.
The Principles textbook is covered thoroughly, with emphasis on what to expect for the exam, including the math. Some of the 1,000 practice test questions with answers and explanations will be reviewed as well. It is not a last minute cram session. The location of the weekend review session is currently in Oakland, CA. Directions to our site and the calendar of dates will be sent to you with your package
The practice test questions for the home study course comes in book form. For online enrollments, they will be online.
Course Fees
The complete program, which includes Ph I and Ph II, is $399, plus $14 shipping and handling. If you have already completed all the required coursework, you may enroll for Ph II only for $199 plus $10 shipping and handling. The practice test questions are included for Ph II.
Should you have a substitute for the elective course *Legal Aspects of Real Estate, and only need Principles, Practice and Ph II, the cost is $349 plus shipping. Qualifying substitutes would include a transcript in either Accounting or Business Law.
If you currently have a conditional license and only need the two additional courses, the cost is $150 for both. You may sign up for one or both here also.
ALSO, our full course fee is refundable after the close of your first sale should you become affiliated with one of our participating Northern California offices.
