There were many things that set you apart from other realtors we interviewed. For starters, you were a patient and responsive listener. You quickly took action in response to our needs and ideas, creating a comprehensive action plan within just a few days and agreeing to run the ad in the SF Business Times, for example. You really got how important it was to us that the beauty and quality of the property be highlighted. Your own appreciation of the property -- not just being willing to go with a higher listing price, but to really believe in it -- meant a lot to us.
From our initial interview with you, we got the feeling that you would be more helpful and supportive than other realtors in getting the house ready for market. You delivered by getting started on photographs that same evening. You also took the time and trouble to arrange for us to get artwork from Alison's gallery. Your and Ellen's inventory of props, hard work and great taste in helping us stage the house were hugely helpful. The thoughtfulness, time and care Ellen took in crafting the text and selecting the photographs made for beautiful marketing materials and an outstanding virtual tour. We also really appreciated Ellen's and your graciousness in incorporating our suggestions. We loved getting the weekly marketing reports too.
Your years of experience, including your corporate background, were also an advantage. Where some of the other realtors were worried about unfavorable appraisals or difficulty with financing, you seemed unfazed. You are obviously well-known and, more importantly, well-regarded in the community. Your contacts and relationships served us well with the artwork, with having a BofA representative at the broker's open to assuage any concerns about financing, as well as in negotiations with the buyer's agent.
Throughout the process, you were reassuring and supportive. You presented options, but were clear with us that the decisions were ours to make, and we never felt pressured. You seemed truly to appreciate the opportunity to represent us, and you have been gracious and generous. No wonder your references rave about you! It has been a pleasure not only working with you, but also getting to know you and Ellen. We look forward to our continuing relationship.

David Pierce represented us in the sale of our home in Orinda during the spring of 2007. Prior to hiring David we did an exhaustive search of real estate agents in our local area. We included David as a finalist because of his reputation and his obvious success and track record in the Lamorinda market. We ultimately selected David because of his strategy for selling our particular home; his great interpersonal capability; the marketing investment and program he was willing to employ in the sale of our home and very importantly the strong team that supports him. He also brought significant knowledge and expertise to our particular situation. We had the confidence in him that he would make the process go smoothly and would handle many of the tasks that are necessary to prepare for the sale of a home. Basically, he knew exactly what needed to happen and had the team in place to execute against that.
After David got involved in working with us, he certainly didn’t disappoint and more than met our expectations. The market we were selling in was not an easy one, but David’s sales strategy was extremely effective, and within 3 weeks our home was sold at a price we were satisfied with in a buyer’s market. David’s team could have not have functioned more effectively and the resources they brought to the staging of our home; the negotiations of the deal and all of the preparation that went into positioning the house for sale was just outstanding. We had great confidence when we had our first open house.
David’s ability to “cut to the chase”, and really pinpoint what needs to happen, why and who will do what was very impressive. I rarely had a need to follow up with David as he was extremely proactive and was constantly on top of all the details, and kept us abreast of all situations related to the sale of our home.

I can recommend David Pierce without reservation. He represented us with energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism during a very difficult period in the Orinda housing market.
We listed our house with David and received an all cash offer from a qualified buyer within 10 days. The deal was supposed to close on July 6th, 2006. The buyer defaulted on July 3rd due to reasons only understood by his psychiatrist. We had moved everything to storage and purchased one-way tickets to Panama where we now living. We were devastated.
David negotiated like a pit bull, and the buyer quickly surrendered an acceptable portion of his deposit. This tough negotiating resulted in our avoiding the costly and time-consuming arbitration process. Additionally, he had the house professionally staged within three days, and we where back on the market which, unfortunately, was in the process of tanking. It took four months and we sold at $100,000 less than the original sale. Through this period David never let up on working hard for us. It was my wife, Suzanne’s, and my decision to lower the price to achieve our objectives. We were never pressured to lower the price. It was just bad luck that the first guy had mental problems which, unfortunately, cost us a lot of money. Thankfully, it is history.
In conclusion working with David is the way to go if you are selling property in the Lamorinda area. He just plain has the moxie for that kind of work. Please write to me if you have any further questions.
